Important Update: We are now Citizens Advice Oxfordshire

27 March 2025

We are pleased to inform you that on 1st April 2025, three local Citizens Advice offices merged to become Citizens Advice Oxfordshire. They are;

  • Oxfordshire South & Vale Citizens Advice (including Abingdon, Didcot, Henley & Thame)

  • Citizens Advice West Oxfordshire

  • Citizens Advice Oxford (City)

After careful consideration by the three Boards of Trustees, this change was made to ensure we remain sustainable for future generations, enhance our services, and support even more people in our communities.

The merger allows us to improve operational efficiencies, such as sharing IT resources and support and invest in frontline services to strengthen the help we provide.

You will continue to receive the same high-quality service, and your data will remain secure and confidential. If you would like more information on how we handle your personal data, please refer to Citizens Advice Privacy Policy.

The data controller for the new organisation is Citizens Advice West Oxfordshire.

We appreciate your trust and support during this period and look forward to continuing to serve you.

CAO collaborates with Layla Moran MP and her casework team

1 February 2025

CAO had a very productive meeting with Layla Moran (MP for Oxford West and Abingdon) and members of her casework team in November. We were able to share notes on the cost of living crisis and research and campaigns issues, and how we can work together to help our mutual clients. Taking a shared approach will be useful in complex cases, especially immigration, where we can take advantage of their links with the UK Visas and Immigration department via the MP liaison scheme. Their direct line to ministers will also be useful for raising benefits issues.

In addition, Layla’s team will help us with some campaigning issues, such as our flooring campaign (which addresses the issue of flooring removal for every new social housing tenancy) and selective licensing. They will also help promote our Open Day using their social media channels.
